Bring Forth the Dove From the Cleft of the Rock
I think most of us know what a sour looking face is that spews out sour words. I imagine a person who is in a state of rage would be just like that, delivering very unpleasant words with anger and scorn written all over the face. In contrast, a sweet voice with pleasantness of the Spirit would be quite a relief to encounter! The sweetness and pleasantness are symbolized by the dove, and a dove represents a meek and gentle Spirit of peace. Our world seems to be full of a lot of ugly appearances on the face of this earth with a lot of hostile words being hurled as well. The world is full of harsh and aggressive conflict. Where is the Dove of God’s Spirit? Where is the Spirit of Christ?! We lift up our prayerful cry, “Bring forth the Dove from the cleft of the rock!”
There are tons and tons of sour words and unpleasant images towards the Living God that are filled with harsh and aggressive issues designed to incite conflict in believers. The haters of God has made the rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places their god. We need to come forward with sweetness in our words and pleasantness in our spirit to express our love for the Living God. Bring forth the Dove from the cleft of the rock! The sweetness of words and pleasantness of the Spirit of Christ is to show reverence and respect to God the Father. We should always rest in the Spirit of the Dove and never to rage against those in authority with a harsh and aggressive attitude intent on causing conflict. The prayerful cry from our soul should be, “Bring forth the Dove from the cleft of the rock!”
Through all types of conflict, people are being hurt and abused mentally, emotionally, and physically as the world is filled with harshness and intimidating aggression. Faithfulness is a trait of character that is being ripped to shreds in this hostile and violent world full of betrayals. Satan intends to steal the Spirit of the Dove from the world and to kill it before it takes wings from the cleft of the rock. The demonic activity in this world intends to destroy the meek and gentle Spirit of Peace given to us from the Kingdom of God through the Cross of Christ. Satan and all the powers of darkness are defeated because of what Christ did for us on the Cross, Christ is the Dove that comes from the cleft of the rock. Within us we pray, bring forth the Dove from the cleft of the rock! Nothing in this world is worth stealing, lying for, or lusting after because we belong to a better world which is the Kingdom of God. As we pray, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done in earth as it is in Heaven,” we pray in the name of Jesus, the Dove abiding in us, and welcome the bringing forth of the Dove from the cleft of the rock.
Jesus Christ is our Heavenly Dove, sent from the Kingdom of God, to reconcile us to His gentle, meek, and peaceable Spirit. We need to hear the sweet words of the redemption plan and to see the return of pleasantness on the face of this earth. Bring forth the Dove of your heart and mind that rests in the cleft of the rock! Let your words and spirit be the pleasantness and appearance of Christ the Dove in this turbulent world. The ways of the world that works through the flesh rages with the sin of harshness, aggression, and violence. Satan seeks to steal the meek and gentle spirit of peace from this world, to kill the sweet message of the Heavenly Dove, and to destroy the pleasantness that comes from the Kingdom of God to us through the Cross of His Son Jesus Christ. It is at the Cross where Satan, the world, and the flesh are defeated by putting sin into remission. When sin is in remission, wings are given to the Dove to arise from amidst the cleft of the rock! Those are sweet words of the Holy Ghost to restore a pleasant countenance to the spirit. The Holy Ghost is symbolized by the dove because of the meek and gentle words of peace that fills the lips, and because of the meek and gentle Spirit of peace that lights the countenance of the human spirit. The Spirit of the Dove sets us apart from the spirit of the world! We do not belong to this world, but we have a Home in the Kingdom of God because we accept what Jesus Christ did for us on the Cross. Let us be able to say, “It is no longer I that lives, but it is Christ who lives in me.” Bring forth the Dove from the cleft of the rock.
“O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.”
Song of Solomon 2:14
